All you need to do is sign up at the site and get started.
How to Create Free Marketing Graphics Online
In your plans, you should define what kind of graphic materials you need — banners, posters, flyers, schedules, menu, and so on. After that, you can get started to make them with attractive designs. Straight up, you can change the interface language from English to any one of the 15 different languages that the site supports.
Pick a Template
Signing up with PosterMyWall will help you store your design drafts and completed designs in your account. Head to the Template Gallery to browse thousands of professional templates in high resolution. You can also pick one based on the type of graphic you want to build — flyer, banner, or poster. You can sift through the sea of templates spread across different categories from concerts to special holidays. Don’t worry about the size and dimensions. You can change them anytime, and all the elements will readjust automatically. After selecting a template, hit the Customize button. Then the entire interface will transform into the online editor. For this guide, we will be picking a template to make an Instagram post for official GuidingTech accounts.
Customize a Template
The best part of PosterMyWall’s online editor is that it is highly flexible and easy to understand. Also, all the elements on a template are customizable — from fonts to graphics. That’s really cool, isn’t it? Clicking on an element on the template and a new set of options will show up on the right side. The variety of options depends on the item you click. Apart from making aesthetical adjustments, you can rotate and move the item around on the template as well. Clicking on the visual items (photos and clipart) brings up several editing and effects tweaking options to the right on the interface.
Change the Background
Background options are useful in changing and estimating how the final design will look. If you want to change the background color, then you can pick between solid colors, gradients, or add another photo. Even after choosing a solid color, you can apply Gradient by click on the button next to it — no need to shuffle between the options.
Replace the Text
To change the text on the template, tap on it, and then you can change it by browsing between different fonts and effects. Some templates lock the text box on a specific place, like in the case of Instagram Template we chose. So you need to ‘Unlock’ the text box and then make the necessary edits. After that, you can realign the text, change its orientation, and more. Our Instagram template had quite a lot of text on the graphics. So we selected it and wanted to present that differently. The built-in editor also offers quite a lot of options to pick between fancy and plain fonts apart from spoiling with you with a choice of several font types. That is the fun menu where you can add a word or two, pick one of the fonts, and then choose the effects to preview how the final version might look. You can upload your fonts by upgrading to the Premium subscription (more on that later).
Add Photos or Graphics
On the left column, you will find options to add more photos, clipart, graphics, text, and layout options. The dimensions and other colors, as well as graphics adjustment options, should appear on the right. That may vary depending on the template you select. Since we are making an Instagram post for our GuidingTech Instagram accounts, we wish to add our logo. If you want to add your official logo or any other image, click on the Photo button and select Add from My Photos. Alternatively, you can also choose Add Stock photo if you wish to pick a few from free Stock photos available through Storyblocks, Pixabay, and Flickr. Besides that, the site also allows importing pictures from Facebook and other popular cloud storage services. That’s quite an impressive bunch of services to choose free stock photos.
Add Clipart or Shapes
You can always include some clipart to improve the visual appeal of your graphics. For that, click on Clipart option on the left, and select Add clipart option. From the window that pops up, you can search for a specific type of clipart from Storyblocks, Pixabay, and Flickr. Select one and add it to your graphic. Then you can resize it or move it around to place it wherever you want. On the right column, you will see a variety of options to enhance the clipart further. You can add a border, give it a glow, include a shadow, even add a tint. Below that are the Layout options that let you flip the clipart vertically and horizontally. That’s quite an exhaustive bouquet of options to play around.
Move Element to Front or Back
If your graphic has too many elements overlapping each other, then you can adjust them by bringing the prominent ones to the front and sending a few to the back. When you click on any item, the right column shows four options — Send to Back, Bring to Front, Copy Image, and Delete Image. The last two are self-explanatory. If you choose Send to Back, the selected element will be placed at the back and will appear stashed below the overlapping item. You can use the Opacity slider to adjust the transparency of the elements to create a specific effect around your main item or text. Here comes the kicker — you can change the size of the template any time with the Resize button at the top. That means you can adjust the size by inches. Or you can resize the same design to a flyer, rollup banner, postcard, or a poster. The items on your design will remain intact for you to adjust them again. The learning curve of the online editor is so natural that you’ll be familiar with the interface and options in a day.
Sharing and Publishing
After completing your design, you can download it in most popular file formats. All the digital designs are downloadable with free in JPG, PNG, and PDF options. If you download the creations often, then upgrading to Premium subscriptions will help you unlock unlimited downloads. Also, you can share your artwork with your colleagues or clients via email. You can add email addresses to share it with your colleagues to or clients for viewing it. You can add your team members to collaborate with editing the design. Also, you can choose to make it view-only for select people. It’s rare is that this site allows embedding your design on your blog or a website. The Premium and Premium Plus subscriptions help you unlock the scheduling of social media posts from your account and unlimited downloads. That’s such a time saver. You won’t have to take the pain of downloading the graphic and then add to your social accounts individually. It’s pretty convenient. In case you are interested, here’s an Instagram post graphic that was made in less than 10 minutes using PosterMyWall. Note: Also, you can order prints for posters, flyers, banners, and wall clings from the site directly. The cost varies based on size, quantity, and finish.
