So, is the Honor 9N a great phone in the sub-Rs 15,000 price bracket? Well, instead of us telling you, find out for yourself why you should be considering the Honor 9N as your next phone.
1. Stunning Looks
Aside from the camera and the processor, what’s the one thing you look for when buying a phone? For me, the design and style of a phone matters as much as its features. If you are someone like me, rest assured that you won’t be disappointed with the Honor 9N. It comes in brilliant shades of Blue, Lavender Purple, and Robin Egg Blue (aside from the standard black), and stands out in a sea of similar looking devices. The smooth finish on the back panel breaks to accommodate the fingerprint sensor and the dual camera. It’s worth noting that the phone doesn’t have any visible antenna lines. That combined with the glossy finish on the glass back gives the Honor 9N a clean and a premium look. And the slim profile is the cherry on top.
2. Immersive Display
The Honor 9N is one of the newest phones to step into the FullView Display club in the sub-Rs 15,000 price bracket. It bundles a 5.84-inch FHD+ IPS panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The display is bright, sharp and is accompanied by minimal bezels. Needless to say, these factors combine to provide a great viewing experience. This means that you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite movies in all their glory.
3. To be, or Not-ch to Be
It’s been almost a year since the notch made its debut in the iPhone X. Since then, this design element has appeared in nearly every phone. And as expected, it has divided the masses into two sections – one who love the notch and the other who love to hate it. Thankfully, Honor has managed to marry both the sections perfectly. The Honor 9N comes with the option to mask the notch. This feature, when enabled, darkens the area above the status bar effectively hiding it and reverting to the standard 18:9 aspect ratio.
4. Dual Camera + AI Advantage
Another important reason that makes the Honor 9N a great pick is its rear camera module. The combination of the 13-megapixel primary sensor and the 2-megapixel secondary sensor gears up to provide quite admirable pictures. Apart from features like Portrait (bokeh) mode and Motion-photos, it also bundles a neat Wide-angle mode. However, the cherry on top is the AR mode which adds different backgrounds and face filters to your photos. While the backgrounds are restricted to the front camera, the filters are available for both the cameras. Following are some of the samples captured using the Honor 9N.
5. Feature Rich EMUI 8.0
If you are someone who loves custom user interfaces, you are in luck. Like its predecessors, the Honor 9N also packs the feature-rich EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Needless to say, it delivers plenty of customizations and tweaks EMUI 8.0 comes with the option to enable fingerprint sensor gestures, and split-window functionality, to name a few. However, the two features that steal the show is Floating Navigation Dock and the Battery Saving mode. While the former is a tiny screen toolbar which lets you navigate around your phone, the latter allows you to switch between FHD+ and HD+ resolutions to save battery juice.
6. Uninterrupted Gaming + GPU Turbo
The Game Suite is gold for the gamers out there. It ups your gaming experience by clubbing all your games under one roof and enhancing the overall performance. And that’s not all. It lets you have an immersive gaming experience by blocking all the intrusive elements like calls, alarms, and others. However, the most important feature is the GPU Turbo. This one is a graphics processing acceleration technology built to optimize your gaming experience by improving the graphics performance and eliminating other software that bottleneck the GPU’s operation. In short, the GPU and the gaming software (app) gets priority over rest of the things when it comes to games.
7. Face Unlock
Last but not the least, the Honor 9N sports one of the newest (and quickest) unlocking methods – Face Unlock. For those who are unaware, Face Unlock is a faster and easier method to unlock your phone when compared to the existing technologies like PIN, Pattern or Fingerprint. All you need to do is just glance at the phone (after registering the face data), and the doors to your phone will be opened swiftly.
Yay or Nay?
The consumer tech scene in India has seen a slight shift over the last few years with the phones like Honor 9N serving as the perfect examples. Stylish, slim and packing right features for the right price — a recipe for an excellent value-for-money phone. So, are you considering to buy the Honor 9N as your next phone?
